Halloween Decor

For a simple and pretty Halloween wreath wrap wide, black ribbon around a wreath, tie a large bow at the bottom and then accent with fresh orange flowers. These are small roses, but you could also use carnations or any other orange flower.

We are having a Halloween party this weekend and I'm so excited about this table decoration. I found this sparkly purple tulle, a "spooky house" centerpiece and then added some votive candles with the rhinestone tops. The rhinestone tops are actually Shabby Chic shower hooks from Target!

A Tabletop that Brings the Outside In

Lately I have noticed these huge green seeds lying all over the road where I run, and I came up with the idea of using them in this oversized vase from Pottery Barn as a centerpiece for my dining room table.  The seeds have a really cool texture and are a very beautiful shade of green. Bringing a piece of the outdoors in is a great way to celebrate the changing seasons and of course, you can't beat the price!  To complete this tabletop arrangement, I  added these two light pink candle holders from Marshall's and topped them off with off-white candles.

A Ravens-Inspired Manicure

Recently I attended a Raven's game in Baltimore and noticed the wide variety of Ravens-pride attire.  There were lots of purple and gold jerseys, tees, hats, etc... The next day I hit Ulta and found these three colors which are perfectly suited for creating a Ravens manicure! You can use the purple as your base color and then the gold to add a little fun! I added a number "5" on my left ring finger (Joe Flacco's number) and a "B" on my right ring finger for Baltimore. I received a lot of compliments, and think I'll try it again before Monday's game against the Jaguars. I will add that you can do the same thing for any sports team. For example, if you are a Redskins fan use burgandy and gold. If you are a Navy fan use navy blue and gold.

Fresh and Pretty Design

My friend Robin just moved into our neighborhood and she is having the most fun putting together her house. I love her style! It is very fresh and pretty. She has several of these mirrored pieces in her living room which are from Home Decorators, and she found the ceramic owl at T.J. Maxx. They painted the whole interior of their house this really faint bluish-grey shade. It's a very calming color.

I love how she has mixed a dark table with the white chairs, and I love the chandelier! Notice in the background she has 3 black and white framed pictures on a shelf, which I think looks really cool with the color of her walls. She selected some neutral colored gords and placed them in a brushed silver bowl to complete the look for fall. I love it!

Pretty Pillows and a Happy Dog

I fell in love with these throw pillows from Pier One. They have pretty silky stripes that ruffle just a little bit. Sitting in front is my miniature long-hair dachsund named Happy!

Bright Eyes are Always Pretty

A friend of mine who works at a spa taught me this tip to reduce redness or puffiness in the eyes. Simply soak cucumber slices or cotton pads in really cold milk and place them over your eyes while you lie down for a few minutes.  I like to do this if I'm going somewhere special and want to look my best!

Pretty In Pink Room Accents

I made these by simply wrapping tissue paper around a square, glass candle holder and then adding the ribbon. I actually used 4 different patterns of grey and white (stars, floral, stiped) and they looked beautiful at night when they were lit because the light shines through the paper like a luminary!

Recently we hosted a rehearsal dinner in our home, and I decorated with pink accents such as this pillow. I love the contrast of the chair's texture and the sequins on the pillow.

Vanity Organization

For a functional and beautiful vanity drawer, line it with your favorite paper and then separate commonly used items into little dishes like these. I love opening this drawer and seeing the bright colors!

I got tired of losing all of my barrettes and hair jewelry, so I made a "bouquet" out of them! It's so easy-- take your favorite vase (this one is from Michael's) and simply hang the barrettes around the mouth of  it. I had fun mixing and matching the rhiinestone, fabric and pearls. Inside the vase, I keep my headbands and bobby pins.

How beautiful is this jewelry stand?!!! I put my rings on top, earrings in the middle and necklaces on the bottom. The colors and design of the glass and the finial on top are just so pretty! From T.J. Maxx!
